Highlights
  • Gross business revenue attributed to tourism reached a record high of $575 million in 2024, a 45% increase from the pre-pandemic peak of $397 million in 2019.

Notes on data: Gross business revenue attributed to tourism is the total revenue generated by businesses that can be directly linked to spending by tourists. It encompasses revenue from industries such as accommodation, food, transportation, recreation and retail.

The target revenue is sourced from the Yukon Tourism Development Strategy. The shaded blue area represents the confidence range, indicating possible estimated values for Gross Business Revenue attributed to tourism. Estimated revenue data is derived from Destination Canada's Lodging Aligned Spend Reporting (LASR), combined with information from the Yukon Business Survey (2009-2023). LASR does not include pre-trip spending but instead focuses on in-destination spending.

Notes on data: These statistics represent perceived Yukon GDP attributed to tourism, construction, agriculture and mining, since the computations are entirely dependent on the respondent's perception of the percentage of their revenues attributed to each of these industry sectors. Reporting of this perceived value by businesses was based on their 'best guess' which may have imparted bias in the data.
